Maintenance Worker

Location: The Salvation Army Kroc Center
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Variable Hours

The Salvation Army has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Worker.

The essential functions of the Maintenance Worker include managing the preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, utility equipment, and appliances, and scheduling and conducting routine inspections of  vehicles, appliances, maintenance tools and equipment, as well as heating, air conditioning, security and fire alarm systems to ensure the long life. This individual performs routine building maintenance activities; performs minor repairs required; drives truck in order to pick up materials and/or repair items needed for maintenance work; performs minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets; repairs leaks in pipes; cleans and repairs shower heads; replaces shower curtains and rods; adjusts temperatures in showers; unclogs drains using closet auger; checks and replaces sprinkler heads; cleans and replaces faucet filters. Additionally the Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance of grounds, structures, fixtures, and décor through additions, repairs, adjustments, painting or replacement.

The minimum requirements for this position include: a High School Diploma or equivalent; AND 2 years HVAC preventive and predictive maintenance experience; AND the ability to read and interpret schematics and blue prints for piping, electrical, and HVAC; AND 2 years of painting and finishing experience.
