Program Director

Location: The Salvation Army Kroc Center
Status: Full-time, Exempt

The Program Director provides programmatic operational direction and support to all facets of The Salvation Army Kroc Center to include the Center, outside common areas, and when appropriate programs housed in other facilities on the Kroc Center campus. This position also develops proposals for new programs for the Kroc center based on the Needs Assessment and Business Plan, as well as, hires and provides supervision in the program venues of Arts and Education, Children and Youth, Aquatics, Health and Fitness, Sports and Recreation; and provides leadership and training in safety and risk management. The Kroc Center Program Director also works on a National Level and as the local subject matter expert to provide training and implementation for Asset Development. In addition to the listed duties, this position has many administrative and strategic responsibilities to include: direct contact responsible for the development and maintenance of collaborative partnerships with area agencies in an effort to provide solid program partnerships in the Kroc Center; ensures the shared facility resources are allocated properly; prepares an annual operating budget to include both income and expenses for all program areas within the Kroc Center.

The Program Director is also required to work closely with the Area Commander, Business Director, Development Director, Facility Director and Social Services Director to participate in setting priorities and recommendations for the Kroc Center Campus operation, including budgets, communications, security, staffing, repairs, remodeling, and replacement of facilities and equipment.

The minimum requirements are of this position include:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years experience directing operations in significant recreational, athletic and entertainment facilities, and a minimum of two (2) – three (3) years prior experience supervising and managing multiple task professional staff; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
